RLS Scipio Maiden Voyage

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/28/2018

Pope looked at the paint job being applied to the hull and had two thoughts. “Pretty” and “if I were in a fighter, I would use that golden symbol as an aim point, and that red line as my lead pip.” Still, the design was nice. Good for parade and shipyard. Something else would have to be applies for combat ops. She made a note to send the Commander a history of WWII and how US pilots used the “Rising Sun” painted on Japanese carrier decks as a perfect spot to drop bombs…

July 29, 2018

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018

Tar made note of the Admirals message to him. Maybe he did get a little carried away on the aesthetics. He ordered a minimization on the paint job for mission ops. He would save the flashy stuff for the parades. After the new coat was swiftly applied, Alexander quickly got on board for an inspection(edited)

“No, we’re waiting on the Admiral to give the green light on the special outfittings. We don’t technically know what role the ship will play yet. Hold off on installing the drive for now.” Tar told his main engineer. As he nodded and saluted, Tar saluted back and walked on, to the bridge

“Ladies and gentlemen” Tar spoke as he entered the spacious opening I am Commander Alexander Tar, your commanding officer. Please, as you were. he said as one jumpy ensign jumped up and stood at attention

I will lay this out for you. Here’s what I expect of you. I want dedication. I want efficiency. I want a positive attitude and an air of professionalism. I want trust in each other. I want, for the love of God, good listening skills. And I want each and every one of you to be able to admit and correct your mistakes. I intend to respect and know my crew as my own friends and family.

Now that that’s out of the way… how about we go ahead and get this puppy moving

Alex took a seat in the captains chair. He took a quick moment to take in a serene feeling.(edited)

“Ensign, open a channel to Lorell command.”

“Aye sir”

as the channel opened, Alex spoke Admiral, this is Commander Tar. I’m requesting permission to conduct a quick test flight, since the Scipio has just been prepped in the dock. At least I’m in my own ship this time! Alex chuckled @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

mG message Approved for limited flight ops. Funding approved for TDY (temporary duty station) assignments for 5 Crew for a period of no longer than one (1) week if you can find volunteers who want to go on a familirization cruise. Requisition for standard supply loadout is approved, as well as Ferry configuration weapons load. (In other words, you have enough ammo to save your ass if you get in a scrape, not to start one, so don’t) As the PCU Scipio is not yet cleared for unrestricted flight ops, your operational range is hereby limited to 50 ly from the fleet. Notify me prior to requesting departure clearance from Sarpedon approach. ADM out. @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018

Alex nodded You heard the Admiral, let’s get the rest of the band together

Sent by mobiGlass messenger @LT Erebus Kingsley Lieutenant, you willing to go on a quick drive to the gas station and back? Alex also sent an outgoing message to any other personal wishing to crew the Scipio for a quick flight @Armed Forces

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

with the orders dispatched, Sailors and Civilians soon began swarming the spacedock where the PCU Scipio was berthed. Argos began ferrying supplies, ammunition and everything else from a steady stream of Hull-A’s that had taken station above the port, starboard and aft beams of the shiny new Polaris. From a God’s eye view, it looked remarkably like a colony of ants foraging vital nutrients into the hive. This was the first time in quite a while a Republic ship had set out

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018

in the Polaris’s cargo bay, Alex was talking to Lorell’s top scientist and tech expert, as well as his A-class engineer @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} First things first. We’re about to conduct a test run of not only the ship in general

But a coating of electro-photo receptive paint

For now, this is only going to be changing between the ops coating and the more flashy display coating

But in the future… this can be used to photo receptive camo, among other things

And this is the first of many different experiments aboard this ship. The Dr will be working on more tech to outfit and test

RADM Dev Garason, CAG07/29/2018

Ship Comm systems intercepts a highly encrypted transmission to the dock crew

CLASSIFIED AT HIGHEST LEVEL

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018

While listening to Commander Tar Tristan tapped his mG a couple of times, nodded, then tapped it off. “Me affairs are all squared away Commader. I’m all yours.” He gave a better than normal civvie salute to the Commander.

RADM Dev Garason, CAG07/29/2018

EYES ONLY, ADMIRALTY LEVEL

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

Admiral Pope’s mG delivers the distinct chirp-whistle associated with a high level communique. She opened the msg, smiled and shot off a one word response. “Execute”

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/29/2018

Aelyrya nodded slowly, her ever unblinking eyes stonier than normal.

“The resources of the Serapis and the Science Directorate are at your disposal, however, I will remind you that should you request anything that I consider to be traipsing into unethical territory, I will be informing you as such in the bluntest way possible.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018

Dr, I would expect nothing less. I don’t plan on attempting anything unethical or otherwise malicious

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

across the aft loading bay, mG’s went off simultaneously. Almost as one, the crews servicing the Scipio swore. Three new Hull -B’s appeared and began disgorging cargo through their assigned argo’s(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

with the loading complete, the argos and hulls began departing from around the Scipio. Appropriate automated messages were dispatched to the interested parties

@CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio @Admiralty

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018

From the viewing port Broadsword saw a clamour of activity around the fancy looking Polaris in the dock area

looks like something interesting is going on there, he thought.

RADM Dev Garason, CAG07/29/2018

Looking at his mG he nodded and sent a quick acknowledgment

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018

As he watched the activity Broadsword’s mG pinged and he saw a request for crew for a test flight for that particular Polaris

Although new to Lorell, and only classed as a Resident Alien he did not hesitate to volunteer his services, he tapped an application to join as a pilot

A few minutes later as he continued watching the frenzy of activity his mG pinged again, “Report to the bridge ASAP” Smiling Broadsword followed the indicators along the route to the Argo’s ferrying out to the Scipio. Here I go again, he thought(edited)

He flashed his authorisation code at the officer in charge of embarkation, who smiled and nodded towards the personnel Argo at the dock.

“On you go” She said. “Enjoy the cruise, reckon it is going to be an interesting one!

As he boarded the Polaris, a ship unfamiliar with him Broadsword saw and felt the familiar buzz of a ship preparing for a voyage. As he followed the signage to the bridge he was taken with the energy that a new challenge would bring. On the bridge, sitting in the Command chair he saw the Commander. Cdr Tarr the mG information had said.

“Sir Broadsword-Eagle reporting for duty.” He barked crisply with an equally smart salute. “Understand you need a pilot. “

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
@Broadsword-Eagle Aye, we do. Good to see a new face around here… Broadsword, take a seat in the front, in the pilots seat. You don’t have a co pilot, unfortunately. But I’m sure you’ll do fine

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018
Klaxons began sounding in the space dock. “Attention, Attention. Condition HERO is set throughout the ship and the Spacedock during refueling operations. All open flames, hot work and electromagnetic spectrum communication is hereby forbidden until further notice. Attention, Attention. Condition HERO is set throughout the ship and the Spacedock during refueling operations. All open flames, hot work and electromagnetic spectrum communication is hereby forbidden until further notice. Carry On.”(edited)
A massive Starfarer which had taken position off the upper port bow began extending multiple refueling probes and lines.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
Tristan hadn’t really paid much attention to the Polaris of the Lorell fleet until now. It had been years since he had been aboard one. He chuckled. Remembering the UEE blockade of 2 of them. He hopped a ride on an Argo, disembarked in the cargo hold. Tristan made his way to the main elevator and took it to the 3rd deck. Going forward he stopped long enough to admire the power plant and entered the C&C suite. It contained the energy/shield consoles and the battle bridge.

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
Broadsword took the pilots seat as instructed, shrugging in his jacket he Swiftly scanned the control set up, most of which he was familiar with. He flipped the prep switches and checked the observation console for the refuelling stations

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
Tristan recognized the young crew member manning the scanning console from times in The Core. A simple “hey” sufficed.(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
Broadsword scanned his controls and checked the communications with the other manned stations. He became aware of a presence walking around the bridge area, he glanced back to see an imposing man with a great white beard way beyond any regulation length that he was aware of.
“Broadsword-Eagle,” He said to the man. “Pilot”

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
Jozai walked into the bridge, dressed sharply in his uniform. He looked around noticing the various individuals and the frenzy of activity. He moved to the weapons console and began running systems checks.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
Realizing the man in the pilot’s chair had spoken, Tristan tapped his mG to turn down the music he played constantly. “Hey…. whoa, cool name…” as he repeated it aloud slowly. “Broadsword…… Eagle. Nice.” He stepped close enough to extend his hand. “Tristan. Engineering.”

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Tristram, nice name, Earth Irish if I am not mistaken. “ Broadsword felt at ease with the big man. “Broadsword is my call sign, Clark is my given name, although I answer to You!”

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Engineers are my favourite people. They keep the toys working.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
@Broadsword-Eagle @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron Everyone, I’m glad to see we’re all social and getting along, but let’s get this show moving. Departing in 5 minutes.
@everyone last chance to join in!

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Sir!” Snapped Broadsword.
“Refuelling complete in 2 minutes. All systems check coming back positive “

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
o7 “Commander, weapons look good. Here’s hoping we don’t need them.”

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“I have a slight wobble on the port aft manoeuvring thruster but that could be start up gremlins. “

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Thank you, Braodsword, acknowledged. Spaldur I’m going to send you a munitions check, be sure to read it over

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018
a message scrolled across the main view screen PCU Scipio flight plan accepted and approved. Departure approved. Contact Sarpedon Approach for departure vector. See you in a week. Good Hunting. Athena Sends

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/29/2018
Sitting in the cargo bay after Tar’s sudden departure, Aelyrya lounged atop a crate, leaning back on her arms, legs swinging and tapping the crate-edge with the heels of her boots. There were a lot of people rushing around, loading and refuelling. She wasn’t really sure why she was here. Sure, it was the Scipio’s first flight and this was to essentially be the test-bed for all future creations coming from her labs, but she could easily have looked over the data from her office. Gala had insisted she go, after telling Tar to get in touch. “Nothing beats first-hand experience on the studies you’re performing!” Gala had re-quoted something Aelyrya herself had said, just to be clever. “Sure,” Aelyrya muttered, “When there are no other people around…”
She continued to lay back on the crate, lowering herself onto her back and waiting for a summons.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
nodded as he finished reading the check. “All good to go, Sir.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Excellent. Tar quickly tapped a button on his mobiGlass
Sarpedon Approach, this is the RLS Scipio requesting departure.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018
The Starfarer finished the last of the offload and began retracting the probes and hoses while veering off and accelerating. Scipio, Freyr. Your tanks are topped off. Good Hunting. Syren out.(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Alex nodded and closed the channel You heard em, people.
@Broadsword-Eagle Bring her out nice and slow

This is our vector. Aiming for the Stanton-Magnus tunnel
@Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas Dr, are you still in that cargo hold?

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/29/2018
“Aye, like an eejit….” Aelyrya replied

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
How idiotic of me not to tell you…
Get to the captains quarters. You’ll find some updated equipment I requisitioned for you to toy with
As well as a comfy bed and some drinks. I will be sleeping with the crew
I appreciate you being willing to help, Dr. @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018
Scipio, Sarpedon Approach. You are cleared for departure, direct approach to the wormhole. Limit speed to 1/8th impulse until clear of the docks.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Aye Sarpedon. One last thing, I will be keeping radio contact every 3 hours for a very quick check in. If you don’t hear from us in 4 hours, then you’re allowed to worry. Besides that… I’ll see you all back soon. Scipio out.
(Clarification, if something goes super wrong in this roleplay, pretend we haven’t been in contact for more than 4 hours. I won’t actually be checking in every three hours irl lol)
@ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018
(Got it)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
(Crew, we’ll be waiting for Broadsword to get back, and we’ll get underway. Standby)(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
((Alright, whose sleeping with the Commander? It’s unprofessional!! lmao))

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
(Lol, since we don’t have a full crew, I’ll be in my own bunk)

RADM Dev Garason, CAG07/29/2018
The CAG observed as the Scipio departs. Typing a short message into his mG he turned and headed back to his office

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Pulling ahead dead slow sir,” Broadsword acknowledged.
(Sorry family interaction)(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/29/2018

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Stanton Magnus tunnel vectors input selected, once we are clear I will confirm course.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
(No problem Broadsword.)
Excellent. Let me know when we’re clear, Broadsword
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} Tristan, you settled in?

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
Broadsword concentrated on the star map holo above his console as he carefully piloted the ship clear of the dock. He could feel the response of this hybrid through his controls. It felt good.
“Ship clear of dock sir, course setting 300by34 I will need to prep Quantum jump in five. We will be at the jump point in 30 minutes.”
Broadsword had used the Stanton Magnus tunnel only recently and knew the issues with the time lag post Quantum jump. He calibrated the controls as he prepped the jump.
“Ready to jump Sir, on your mark.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Alex nodded

…hit it.

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
Broadsword pushed forward on the QT activation and the buzz activated around the ship, all stations braced as the ship swallowed into the Quantum envelope.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
settled into his seat wordlessly as the ship jumped.(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
How we feeling, crew?
Feeling good about this?

Broadsword-Eagle07/29/2018
“Never better Sir!” Broadsword said.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Excellent! Alex was nearly yelling over the sound of the ship warping

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
looked thoughtfully at the bridge before answering “Slightly hungry Sir, but other than that I’ve got no reservations about the mission.”(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Tell you what Ensign, you blow up a few rocks out there, and I’ll be sure to get you some Big Benny’s from the mess hall!

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/29/2018
saluted, clearly galvanized to earn his reward “Sir yes, Sir!”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
(I’ll be back in approximately 20 minutes, everyone)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
@CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio “Bridge – Engineering. Green lights everywhere, she’s running smooth and clean.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
Engineering, bridge- amazing, when we drop out of quantum, wait for my signal. I’m going to get the Dr into a fighter to watch, and then I’ll initiate the photo receptive paint.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
“Aye Commander copy.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
@Broadsword-Eagle Let me know when we drop out. I’ll be right back.
Tar stood up and went through the bridge door

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
He walked down the steps to the captains quarters and knocked @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/29/2018
Tristan ran his hand across the panel in front of him. “So new and pretty baby.” He reached into his right pocket, pulled out a flask. he turn in his seat, poured a small amount on the deck and took a good swig. “To you Scipio.”
Tapped his mG to turn up the tunes in his head.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/29/2018
waiting for a while with no response, Alex smiled, turned around and headed back toward the bridge
Must be asleep already. I told her that bed was comfy

July 30, 2018
ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
Athena watched the yrabsponder blip of the Scipio as it transitioned out of the system on the inside of her helmet. Satisifed that the departure went smoothly, she clicked her mic. “Republic Flight Control, Athena, requesting departure clearance from the Arbiter. Flight plan zulu-xray-05.”
As she waited, she transmitted a series of pre-typed messages. The wait wasn’t long. It never was when you had stars.
“Athena, Republic Flight control. Cleared for departure, VFR.”
with that, she released the mag locks, swiveled and accelerated out of the hangar, blinking in a streak of light seconds later. The computer announced “CNO Departing” as her ship exited the airlock.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Whilst the ship was in Quantum Broadsword scanned his controls and brought up the details of the Stanton Magnus tunnel, the time lag post Quantum and the time differential from the Quantum drive spooling down would mean a shorter than desirable prep time for the worm hole. The Captain had also asked for time to get some PR phots so he needed to have everything ready.
He checked the range counter on the star-map and began a mental countdown for the end of the jump
“Coming out of Quantum Captain,” he spoke into the intercom.
The jump ended and he noticed in his peripheral vision the other stations taking hold to account for the deceleration. He gripped the Stick and throttle and smoothly took control as the drive spooled down. He immediately felt the tug of the worm hole and applied reverse thrust to hold her in position awaiting the Captains presence.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alex strolled onto the bridge and and nodded at Broadsword Wonderful work. Go ahead and prep for entering the wormhole. I’m going to see if we can’t get those shots real quick @Broadsword-Eagle

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Aye sir.” Broadsword snapped, knowing that he had already done the prep work. He was really enjoying this little trip back in time…

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
@here Alright, change of plans Commander Tar said over the intercom Everyone prepare for jumping to Magnus, we’ll get the pictures later. We should be close enough to an asteroid field to test some of our weapons @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword, checked the Star Map and then slowly eased the ship forward towards the Worm Hole, he watched the energy meter indicating the strength of the pull, he didn’t want to mess up and slide into the passage before the Cdr gave the order
“All ready for jump sir,” He said.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alright, here we go again.
On my mark

Punch it!

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword, gripped the stick and throttle easing the throttle forward he felt the pull of the hole and saw the energy meter rattle over to the right hand side.
“Jumping.”
The Star Field in front of them started to distort and as the tunnel of energy became visible Broadswords concentration jumped up a level. detecting the change in lines of direction and easing the stick to match. Navigating a Worm hole in manual was a strenuos task and his focus had to be precise and his stick control gentle. The throttle was eased back to just above stop, it was the manouvering thrusters that held the sway now.
Of course with charted Jump points the Ships computer could manage the jump in Automatic, but where was the fun in that. Broadsword’s face was lit up with a smile, this was his element.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
nodded as he heard the Commander’s voice. He began running quick diagnostics checks, in addition to memorizing the ammo counts for his weapons. “Big Benny’s here I come.” he muttered softly under his breath.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
on the upper port side of the indicating panel, one of the torpedo tube status indicators flickered from green to yellow several times.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
The Scipio roared out of the wormhole, and to a quick checkpoint, set up and monitored by the Advocacy in conjunction with Drake Interplanetary staff
The comm channels opened and a slightly interested voice spoke “Welcome to Magnus, home of Drake Interplanetary. This your local UEE travel official speaking, may I please see a permit for the ship you are commanding?”
Commander Tar rolled his eyes. Since a military/militia grade ship usually isn’t seen around these parts, he understood and complied “This is Commander Alexander Tar of the RLS Scipio, we have our permit right here. Transferring now

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword equalised the thrusters as the jump ended he eased the throttle forward to match that of the advocacy ship

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
After a moment, the voice spoke again Thank you, you may proceed into the system. Please enjoy your stay

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
tube 8-a blinked from yellow to red

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alex nodded, glad that no petty drama ensued Broadsword, we’re going to plot a course towards the outer asteroid belt. We’ll test our weapons and photo receptive paint in there. Good chance for you to dodge some asteroids as well .

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword relaxed his grip. As he was not a usual member of the RoL military he wasn’t sure of their welcome in this situation.
“Aye sir.”

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword brought up the Magnus star map
“Magnus 3 has the best chance of an asteroid field sir, bringing her about. “

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
the screen with the map began to fizz and roll like an old analog tv.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} Tristan, when we get to the belt, I want to convert some power from weapons to shields and engines….
Broadsword, do we need to boost the signal? Your map is…(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir the wobble on that aft port thruster has been aggravated by the jump, we may need to… shit the holo map is failing.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Tar got up and walked over to the comms station

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Think we have some teething gremlins @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} Chief.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
I’ll try boosting the signal. See if that works. For now, did you get that course plotted in?

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
boosting the signal had no effect

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“I did sir turning to the course now.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Wait

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Holding.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
I don’t want to risk jumping if there’s a chance of our nav systems being out of whack
Go ahead and impulse out of range of the Advocacy checkpoint, and we’ll wait for our Engineer to see what’s up.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Understand, taking up the course but staying in normal V.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Excellent.
(We’re going to pause for about an hour while Jozai is doing something.)

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
(OK)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(That’ll give Tristan a chance to get here too)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
((Good to go))

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
((here for a sort bit 30min? expecting hay/grain deliveries))
((then will be free))

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
((Think Tar’s on Star Citizen, so we could probably hold off till you’re fully free))

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(Yeah no rush. Reconvene in around 2 hours? Or do you need more time, Tristan)(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
((^^^^))

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
((2 is more than plenty, should be 1 1/2 hour max))

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(Alright, sounds good)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
(don’t want to hang up @Broadsword-Eagle )

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
The bridge comms had interrupted one of his favorite songs…. “Bridge – Engineering. Copy. diverting power — running holo map diagnostics..” Tristan patted the console, tapped his mG to turn the music in his head to max.
Tristan turned to the power matrix, reduced weapons by 80% split the diff to shields and engines.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
the diagnostic ran for approximately 30 seconds. When the results returnes, it showed a fluxuating resistance value on connection 171-5-24. The value was bouncing between 0 ohms and 4.5 megohms in a random, non-repeating pattern.(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Tristan, find anything on the connection?

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword with little manoeuvring to do was mulling over the differing problems that seemed to appearing on the ship, two possibilities occurred to him. He wondered if it was his place to voice the worst one.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Commander – Tristan chuckles Ya, Broadsword’s right, some little gremlins, fluctuating from closed to full open. Bad connection. track and replace.
Tristan called up the schems to find location of 171-5-24(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alex furrowed his brow, wondering if he needed to be overly cautious(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Bridge – Engineering some worker just didn’t snap the connection correctly and it shook loose I bet.
He patted the console again.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
the computer pinpointed the location. 171st frame, 5th compartment to starboard from the centerline of the ship, junction box 24

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alright Tristan, can you check it out for me?

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
On my way Commander.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
I’m going to see if this is affecting more than just the navigation
Alex attempted to open a channel to the Sarpedon
Sarpedon this is the Scipio, can you read me?(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan stood, patted his jumpsuit pockets, making sure he had his shit together. He double checked he had the current ship schems on his mG, noting the fastest route to the location.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
“Scipio, Sarpedon Read you 5 x 5.”(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Sarpedon, Scipio, good to hear. We had a minor technical difficulty, just wanted to make sure. Getting it taken care of now

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword ran a few manoeuvring checks to see how bad that port after thruster was. It was manageable now and Tristran had enough to look after. He was glad he had done the preparation pre jump and just to do something he fired the plan of Magnus to the Captain’s chair

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan stopped in a gangway to do a little air guitar.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alex received the map. He nodded at Broadsword
Appreciate it

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
a ghostly image appeared on the radar and blinked out a milisecond later. Other random contacts began appearing and disappearing as the computer squelched them

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Broadsword, are you seeing these?

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword was beginning to get a major feeling of deja vu.
“Yes sir.” He said
“Captain, are we being hazed?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
That thought occurred to me. But why wouldn’t they cut comms?
Unless they just don’t want to be seen

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan made it to 171st frame, 5th compartment junction box 24, opened his mG and double checked the location.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Is this the Admirals test? I mean I have seen this sort of thing before on shake down cruises…” He paused unsure if it was his place…

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
We will treat every threat like a real one.
…but that may be a possibility

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir!”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Tristan, shields are up, right?
Broadsword, perform a scan. Unless someone has completely blinded us, it should show us something

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
“Copy Sir – shields are up and at 110% power.” Sure he was at the correct junction, he pulled out his flask, poured a bit on the deck and took a swig. “Alright sweet Scipio gonna open ya up now. Let’s take a look.” he pulled a coin out of his pocket and undid the spring bolts that held the access panel. He moved it to the side and blocking extraneous light he looked for obvious sparks.(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword played with the sensors trying to tease the best out of the systems he had with his experience of that discipline. We could do with a scan specialist he thought

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Tristan, we are performing a scan. Stand clear of the junction. This might show you where the problem is on the ship… if there is one on THIS ship.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Copy

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Broadsword, do you have experience with scanning?

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Only as a junior OOW Sir, but I have watched the experts at work a few times.”
“I will do my best.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
That’s good. If you want me to teach you, I will. Always good to learn something new
Alex grinned

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
in the deep of space, with the systems’s sun directly behind it, the package detached, maintaining the momentum it already had.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
” Always ready to learn!” Broadsword smiled back over his shoulder to the Captains chair. *As he spoke he caught a slight blip in the ping on the port aft section
“Sir incoming…”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Alright, so if you see that flashing button on your right- Alex caught the blip as well
We’re going to go ahead and delay this lesson Alex said with urgency

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword threw the stick hard to port and down bringing the throttle up to max. He hit the button indicated by the Captain.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Broadsword, full throttle, step on it!(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
the slender package unfolded small maneuvering wings, still angled towards the Scipio and closing at a decent rate of speed

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword had a steady blip on the incoming now, too slow for a Missile.
He jinked back to starboard and forced a dive to try and get a bead on it. The Polaris was not a Hornet though.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan could feel the sudden move to port and the sound of the engines. He steadied himself and clicked on his mag boots.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
I don’t know what that thing is, but it’s headed for us. Maintain as much distance as you can. Tristan, is there a problem with the scanning systems or Radar??

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir, Countermeasures?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Braodsword that is an excellent idea. Launch them
That will tell us if it’s a missile or not

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword reached across the console and released a spread of the available countermeasures.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Commader – only prob I was after was the holo map power grid. I’m not anywhere near a console. can abort this if you wish.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Go ahead and get back to your station and standby. We may have other issues here soon

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
The object ignored the countermeasures, but focused on the bloom of the engines(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan shrugged, put the panel back into place, tightened it, and patted it.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Not sure now what was chaff and the incoming, Broadsword dipped back to port and pulled hard up he laid another pattern of CM’s and hit the afterburner.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
“He made is way back to deck 3 and the engineer console.*

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Manoeuvring for avoidance sir.” he advised the Captain.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Broadsword – Tristan you’ve got 120% power to engines if needed bro

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Thanks Tristran.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
when the afterburners lit off, the onboard computer calculated the necessary thrust to close and lit off the engines. The MkX torpedo accelerated in an eye blink, eating the distance with ease.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir, Torpedo Torpedo Torpedo.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Tristan, full power to aft shields!
Alex spoke into the intercom
All hands, BRACE!

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadswords instinct cut in, he shut down the throttle and hit the thrusters to strafe down with all power. Releasing another band of Countermeasures.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan deftly tapped the console, a couple of keys and aft shields went to full power. he upped the power to engines also to 140%
Copy Sir

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir, still manoeuvring to avoid.”
“Hold onto your hats guys…”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan made sure his mag boots were on. Checking the power matrix he upped power to weapons to 40%

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Decoupled, the Polaris was pulling fierce G force and Broadsword started to ease a bit of Starboard strafe into his vector.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
he glanced through the open hatch into the power plant room and tightened his fist, with the other hand he changed the music in his head.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Broadsword… release the landing gear, pull throttle to 0 on my mark. We’re going to make a dead stop.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
Broadsword’s actions were textbook, and exactly what the protagonist expected and wanted. The torpedo, which was emp in nature, didn’t need a skin skin hit. It closed to within the appropriate range and detonated. The emp blast instantly shut down the Scipios engines and maneuvering thrusters, and placed her in a flat spin

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
the force knocked the commander of the chair
Okay never mind!

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir we have lost everything.”
“EMP torp I think.”
“Tristran, if you can hear me this is your baby…”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan hit the panel, and flipped every circuit to emergency shut down.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword selected a laser pistol and a Behring Sub Machine gun, ideal for close combat. He picked up as many clips as he could carry.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/30/2018
there is no indication that the ship is about to be boarded

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
Jozai, on second thought, stay here on the bridge.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
When he felt the pulse correct, he stepped to the pull out power plant main console. He tapped a couple of keys, not looking at the monitor. He then gently hit return.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
Nodded to the commander. “Aye commander.” He stood from his seat, and began rallying the other crew members to repel boarders. “Let’s go gentlemen , let’s go!” He unholstered his own laser pistol as he moved. He quickly turned and nodded, standing down.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
I will alert any non active crew and tell them to arm themselves, just in case.
Now… we wait until the Scipio gets up again.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Tristan looked up to the monitor to see the power graph shoot to 100% in a heart beat.
Power on Sir.
will start reboot

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Broadsword went quickly back to the pilots station, firing up the systems as they came on line

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
he moved to the engineering console and gave engines and shields the reboot priority.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Sir permission to send a ping on the scanner when on line.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Bridge – Engineering power at 100%, engines, shields online.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(One sec guys)

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“That was a quick recovery Tristran!” Broadsword admired. “Thanks mate.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
“Not me, she’s a good ship.”
Nice moves bro… thought I was sufing again

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
“Handles well too.” He mused. “Although that Port aft thruster needs a look when you have time.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
Copy that.
Tristan started a reboot of the scanning/radar systems.
Power was constant and stable, he started a reboot of weapons.
Bridge – Engineering All systems rebooted and stable. Power stable. Running diagnostics on radar systems.

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
Passive scanners were showing nothing, Broadswords finger hovered over the ping button on the scan screen waiting for command approval.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(Guys, gtg for a bit. I know it’s getting late for a few people here. Good stopping place. We’ll reconvene tomorrow.)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
(cool that works.)

Broadsword-Eagle07/30/2018
(OK past me bedtime anyhow!)
(It was fun)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}07/30/2018
(yep later guys)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/30/2018
((Seya! I’ll be more active next time, was RPin via phone))

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/30/2018
(No problem, ttyl)

July 31, 2018
Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword kept his eye on the scan screen as Tristran increased the power, whoever had fired that torpedo was out there somewhere

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
with Systems back online, Tar immediately resumed his quick lesson to Broadsword
Alright, Broadsword here’s how you initiate an advanced scan. You ready?

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Ready.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
The flashing button to your right. Tap it and you should enter scanning mode
But you already knew that.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword tapped the button

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
From here, flip the switch above that button to enter a general area scan. When you hit that switch, a circle should appear on your hud

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Got it.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018

The lit up circle appeared
Press the button to your right again when the indicator is in the bolded, lit up zone on the circle
Closer to the middle of that, the better the scan.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword followed these instructions watching the screen carefully, somewhere out there…

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Excellent work, Broadsword. Now let’s see who’s out there…
The bridge crew watched carefully as the scan fanned out across the expanse

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword moved the circle as he scanned looking for that telltale blip that would indicate a stealth ship.
The signature adjustments were calibrated for structure rather than heat and RF, Broadsword wished he could go active, but understood the Captain’s reticence.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
no blip appeared on the screen

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
After a few minutes, the following text scrolled across the viewscreen

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
EXERCISE 1-A: UNDOCKING…SAT EXERCISE 1-B: DEPARTURE…SAT EXERCISE 1-C: SYSTEM ARRIVAL…SAT WITH COMMENT EXERCISE 1-D: SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING…SAT WITH COMMENT EXERCISE 1-F: THREAT ASSESSMENT….MARGINALLY SAT WITH COMMENT EXERCISE 1-G THREAT RESPONSE….SEE BELOW. 1-G-a Maneuvering-SAT 1-G-b Countermeasures-SAT 1-G-C Decision to deploy landing gear in an attempt to slow the ship in zero atmo, exposing delicate unarmored components to an incoming warhead…..UNSAT. All faults have been remotely cleared. You are cleared to continue mission Athena sends…

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword let out a brief chortle and smiled broadly
“We are being hazed… Flag Officers inspection, on the go…”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Aye, Broadsword. You were right!

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“By the way sir, I know it makes no difference but I didn’t lower the landing gear.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
That was an error on my part. I was assuming that lowering the landing gear would send a message to the thruster systems, forcing them to decelerate quickly

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“By the time you gave that order she was already slowing down. But I know what you meant by it.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
It works in fighters. But this is a Polaris. My apologies. Let’s continue our journey.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Roger, acquiring Magnus III.”(edited)
Broadsword set the parameters for the planet and started the spool up
“Quantum Drive spooled and ready sir.” He reported.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Athena juiced the engines and aimed for a point 5,000 meters ahead of the bow of the Scipio. As she crossed the beam, she deactivated the cloak for exactly one second in the middle of a barrel roll, then re-activated and opened the distance(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Captain I had a blip 3 degrees to starboard.”
“It’s gone now but was a definite contact.”
“I am trying to reacquire.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Don’t. I have an idea.
It seems like our friend wants to play. My suggestion, Broadsword, is we start to play hard-to-get

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Its your train set Sir.”
“What do you have in mind?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Hit it. Magnus 3 is a whole different ballpark

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Jumping.” Broadsword activated the Quantum jump.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
the ship roared into quantum, leaving the mysterious ship with a choice to follow or not

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
As they jumped, Broadsword brought up the Star Map and quoted the specs for Magnus III.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
flying in formation, Athena waited 5 seconds then jumped

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Magnus III is a multi coloured Gas Giant, a Super Jupiter.”
“I believe we have some asteroids in a belt about 600km out.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Can you tell how far into the first layer of the Gas Giant we can get until our hull starts to buckle?
I’m guessing not very far.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword, started to check the more detailed stats of the Planet.
“Checking sir.”
“I would need a take from @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} to be sure sir, but I know he is head down in the Power room at the moment. I reckon we could get about 150 km into the Gas and be OK.”(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Here’s my plan. We have a capital class Scanning Suite. Significantly more powerful than the ship or ships that are following us. We would have detected the ship if it was any bigger than a Retaliator.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Understand.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
If we go inside that gas giant, chances are that they won’t be able to detect us through the interference
But we may be able to detect them jumping into the system
Quantum leaps let out a lot of energy

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Makes sense, and worth a punt.” Broadsword nodded at the Captain as he prepared for the spool out of Quantum.
“Wish we had someone manning the sensors.” He said almost to himself.
“Seems a bit mean to throw an Admirals Inspection on a minimal scratch crew.” He muttered. “Just sayin’.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex chuckled There’s a difference between mean and harsh, Broadsword
There’s hardly ever a reason to be mean

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Yes sir.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
But there are plenty of reasons to be harsh
Let me know when we’re out

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
The Quantum jump ended and Broadsword gripped the stick and throttle ready for the wobble as the drive spooled down.
“We are out sir I have the ship again.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Excellent job, go a little bit deeper and we should be good(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword tapped the sensor panel and brought the scan zone to astern intensifying its structural measurements.
“Aye Sir.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
five seconds later Athena arrived in system. She checked to make sure all her systems were in the green

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword slammed the throttle forward and hit afterburn dipping the ship down into the Gas cloud as he looked for a Quantum destination.
Broadsword watched both the Hull readings and the scanners as she went down into the cloud.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex noticed the blip of energy on the scanners as they went down

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Hull is heating up sir. OK so far.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
We got em. Hold position.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword brought he ship to a stop and held her in position in the Gas Giants toxic atmosphere.
“Holding.”
He hadn’t noticed the blip but then he was watching three screens at once and manoeuvring the ship.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Purposely taking a ship into n extreme environment is dangerous under the best of circumstances. Taking an uncertified ship, literally fresh out of the yards into an intense pressure and gravity well is foolhardy. Within seconds, the “christmas tree,” or status warning panels across the ship began lighting up. Cascading system failures began filling the main view screen. Nothing was critical, yet, but that would change in seconds. Energy levels of the capacitor banks began unspooling at a dizzying rate as the computer tried to compensate…

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Captain, we need to get out of here, everything has suddenly spiked.”
Broadsword was already starting to strafe up and bring the nose up to an escape trajectory.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
alarms began to wail as a HULL BREACH WARNING: DECK 01-05-15 CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS flashed on the screen(edited)
The power drain increased as the ship placed a shield over the growing hole.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Shit,” Broadsword erupted.”Taking her out sir.”
Broadsword pushed to full throttle and the ship moved quickly out of the layer of atmo they had been in.
“Sorry, sir.” He said “I didn’t have my calculations right there, could have done with Tristran.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Athena gripped the stick and throttle, growing horror on her face as the remote telemetry readouts scrolled across her screen. Goosing the gas, she uncloaked and went active, scanning for bodies, namely the Secretary of the Treasury who was sleeping in the Captain’s quarters, who may have been sucked out

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Oh. Fuck. Alex quickly got out of his chair and rushed out of the bridge, yelling at Broadsword Keep her steady, make sure we don’t fall back in!
He rushed towards the captains quarters, and opened the door

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Left on the bridge, Broadsword brought the ship out to a safe distance above the Gas Giant, close to where they had jumped in. Behind he could see the positive blip identified as the Athena on the screen.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
under the unexpected strain of the gravity well, and the sudden application of power, the poorly installed aft port maneuvering thruster lost its hold on the ship and simply sheared off.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Oh dear, he thought the Admirals personal ship, she is here.(edited)
Broadsword felt the jerk of the ship as the Port aft thruster dropped out. He quickly adjusted the remaining thrusters to cope and strafed further up to clear the gravitational effects of the Planet.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex contacted the Admiral through emergency comms Admiral this is Tar, we need emergency assistance at Magnus III!

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Not a good start for the young girl.” He muttered.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
he scanned the room, looking for the Doctor

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
He continued to scan around the ship not detecting anything other than the Admirals boat circling above their hull. Assessing damage he thought.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Pope queued her mic. “Tar, Athena. Emergency assistance is enroute. Maintain calm, get your ship safe and remember your training. Scans indicate zero lifeforms outside your hull.”

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword scanned the warning system lights, the ambers were slowly changing to green in order as the hull temperature lowered.
He wished he knew the ship better and had a feel for the location of the Captain’s cabin.
At least the doc isn’t outside, he thought.(edited)
Probably using those red eyes to burn a hole in my tail… he laughed. Inappropriate at this time, but he was on his own up here.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Aye. Alex closed his eyes and took a breath. When he opened them, he contacted Broadsword Broadsword, I need you to get us out of here. I’m going to reroute all power to engines and shields manually*

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Hope Tristran is OK in the Power room.
“Aye sir.” He replied.
“We are clear of Gravitational and Hazardous effects. Do you want me to make for Borea?”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Pope continued to scan the area surrounding the ship. Nothing. Vid caps would later reveal strucutral damage ranging from insignificant to relatively serious. She would be having words with those yard apes, but she knew what their response would be. “The ship is in pcu status. Such maneuvers were neither expected nor approved. This was supposed to be an initial space trial, not final certification.” She shook her head.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“They have ship building and repair facilities there.”
“Although it is Drake!”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex found the Dr unconscious in the corner. He picked her up quickly and slung her across his shoulder “So sorry, Madam.” He muttered. He could feel the room start to depressurize

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Athena’s voice boomed across the Scipio’s internal speakers. Negative. Place the Scipio in a equatorial geosynchronous orbit around this planet. Repair and medical assets are enroute.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
That told me.
“Aye Aye Admiral.” Broadsword answered respectfully.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
He carried her to the mess hall, which was relatively undamaged. Gently laying her down and checking for a pulse
@Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
her pulse was strong

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword brought the ship into the requested orbit, the port aft thruster loss was not a major issue, although he felt sure someone was going to get their arse chewed out for it.
“Captain, holding in safe orbit sir. How is the rest of you holding up?”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Athena queued her comms console. Republic Approach, this is Athena. Bent Wing, repeat, Bent Wing. Send the team onto the field, my coordinates. Athena out.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Thank the Lord, Alex thought. He quickly opened up his mobiglass interface and remotely transferred power to engines and shields. The Dr. is alive, going to check on the rest of the crew and get them to the mess hall

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword registered the comm. Bent Wing eh?

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Broadsword, check for any more hull breaches

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Do you want me to broadcast that Sir?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Good idea, go ahead

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“No further breaches, some hull positions show weakness but nothing serious. Warnings slowly turning Green.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Back at the fleet, the alert five fighter jocks ran to their waiting steeds, including the apollo in the Hangar of the Fairchild. They did well, getting off the deck and enroute to Mangus in 4 minutes 45 seconds(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Do you hear there.” Broadsword spoke into the broadcast system. “All crew members report to the mess room.”(edited)
“I repeat, all hands report to the Mess Room.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
The Crucible, due to her immense size, took a little longer, but also aligned and jumped

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
As the rest of the shaken crew piled into the mess hall, one of them started yelling “With all due respect Commander what the hell were you thinking?!”

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Captain sir, I have the ship, all warning lights are now green, shields are at 40% Hull breach is contained by shielding now.”
“Do you have Tristran there yet?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex turned around and did not engage Good, and Tristan is here, yes

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Little worried he had his head in the power room.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
the man kept yelling You could have gotten all of us killed because of that little game you wanted to play!

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Scipio, Athena, prepare for my arrival, keel docking collar, five minutes.
The ships of the fleet began winking into the system. The super hornets formed a perimeter bubble, while the Apollo raced straight to the starboard docking collar. It took a little longer for the crucible to arrive

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
the sailor finally snapped, and lunged himself at Tar. luckily, the rest of the crew held him back

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword checked the docking collar arrangements. All lights were green

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
You’re worthless! he screamed, as the crew pinned him down

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“We are ready for Docking Admiral.” He spoke calmly.
“Captain sir, may be an idea to be there when she comes aboard. Sorry if you are already on the way there.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
“Very well.” The ship settled against the docking collar, forming a soft seal. When the lights all turned green, she powered her ship down and opened the interior hatch. Closing it, she opened the exterior hatch and climbed the ladder into the Scipio. Repeating the process, she entered the interior of the ship. A bosun’s pipe sounded the traditional whistle and the computer announced” CNO…Arriving*

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
the whole crew froze

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword thanked his lucky stars he found the Pipe broadcast just as the Admiral entered the ship!

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Using her mG, she made her way to the Crew’s mess., helmet still on. As she stepped into the space, her eyes scanned the room.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
*He checked over the systems again, preparing himself for the Admirals critical eyes.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex said it with no fear… only disappointment and resentment in his actions Admiral… Admiral on deck.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
As you were
Mr. Broadsword-Eagle, I would like to commend you for your masterful handling of this ship. You responded well in crisis. Thank you. The bridge crew may now realize that I have been monitoring everything aboard this ship, including interior communications. No matter what you did, how hard you tried, or how creative you were, the Scipio would never have discovered me, even if I was flying a Dreadnought super Destroyer because I was actively squelching the data.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Thank you Sir.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Despite that, all of the ideas of the crew were sound. Or would have been sound if the Scipio were a fully commissioned ship cleared for unrestricted operations.
She is not.
she approached the Sailor who mouthed off to the Commander and lowered her voice so only he could hear.
“Ensign Jackson, if I ever so much as hear a whisper that you lunged at a superior officer again, I will draw my sidearm, place it between your teeth and paint the bulkhead with your brains without blinking. Regardless of whether your Commander made a mistake or not, regardless of whether you are scared or not, nothing gives you the right to strike a fellow officer, especially not a superior one. Do I make myself clear, or should we take this somewhere private so a girl can whip your ass prior to executing you?”
(Seems we lost Alex. My plan is repair the ship, remove Aely on the apollo unless she objects and let the story go forward.)

RADM Dev Garason, CAG07/31/2018

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
(I will be home from work in about half an hour)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
the shaken ensign stuttered our U-u-understood Admiral. No, Admiral. he started to tear up like a kid getting yelled at

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Very well. Go get checked out by the Apollo crew.
Mr. Broadsword-Eagle, I would very much appreciate it if you could coordinate with the Crucible so we can get my ship fixed and underway.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Aye Admiral, on it.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Commander Tar, your ready room, now.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Yes ma’am. Alex said, making absolutely no eye contact
he led the way to his Ready room

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Broadsword started to get a list of defects together for the Crucible.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
She followed behind, helmet under her arm, face completely stoic

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
The commander and admiral entered the room

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“RoL Crucible this is RoL Scipio, we are ready for your docking arms. I am preparing a Defect a repair list.” Broadsword spoke on the RoL support channel.(edited)
“If your Project Manager can come to the bridge I can give a briefing. Our Engineer will be here shortly.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Fleet Admiral and Chief of Naval Operations Galadriel Pope placed her helmet on the desk. For a full minute, she walked around the Commander, saying not a word. Her eyes never left his, despite his 1000 yard stare.(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/31/2018
((I’ll get on in a few minutes, just gotta grab some food. I’ll catch up while I eat.))

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex opened his mouth… and closed it again

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
she settled in front of the Sailor. Commander Tar, please explain where in your orders you were aprroved to conduct a pressure and gravity test of this hull?

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
I was given no orders to conduct a pressure and gravity test of the hull.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
Tristran arrived on the bridge shortly before the Project Manager from the Crucible. After a quick briefing to both of them from Broadsword they settled down together by his desk and began to hash through priorities and capabilities. Broadsword was glad his engineering skills (zero) were not to be tested any further.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Tell me where in your orders your were authorized to test the emergency response functions of the fleet?(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
I had no authorization to test the emergency response functions of the fleet.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Commander, what is the appropriate response for initial entry into a compromised space?(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
To get out of the compromised space?

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
That would be egress, not entry
You do know the difference, yes?

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Yes ma’am.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
the simmering pot finally blew
Are you sure? Because until an hour ago I thought you understood the difference between a ship cleared for full flight ops and a pre-commissioned unit! Your actions, which would have been fruitless, by the way, put your ship and your crew in imminent danger just to prove how big your cock is! By every rule and regulation I should relieve you of duty on the spot, and toss your cocky ass in the brig. If the Secretary dies, I will do exactly that. YOU are NOT commanding a single seat fighter with only your ass on the line Commander. You are the Commanding Officer of one of our newest, most advanced and expensive ships. A ship which has the ability to start or end a war single handedly. If you do not start showing the sense God gave a cockroach, I will relieve you of this command and put you in charge of a fucking bumper car! Do I make myself clear?(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex felt like he had been punched in the gut 6 times. He felt no air in his lungs when he said You make yourself clear Admiral.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
I am placing a letter of reprimand in your service jacket and docking you a half months pay for two months. If the Secretary dies, you will be charged with Reckless Homicide. Fix your fucking ship, stabilize your crew and get the fuck out. Dismissed!

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio07/31/2018
Alex quickly nodded and removed himself from the room
he reached the bridge Broadsword, please let me know the status of the repairs.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/31/2018
nodded silently in appreciation to Broadsword. He’d wave off the other ensigns he was familiar with, before turning and quietly having words with Ensign Jackson. He was still speaking with Jackson as the CMDR arrived.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Without saying a word, the Admiral filed a flight plan to officially transfer her flag to one of the Hammerheads that had arrived in system. Since stealth observation seemed to be provoking rash decsions, she scrapped that idea and decided on overt observation. Her readouts indicated the Apollo was still docked. She headed towards sick bay to see her friend. @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas(edited)

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
In the Apollo, Aelyrya opened her eyes and looked about her suspiciously. The last thing she remembered was….. a massive boom and then flying across the room. She groaned slightly and went to sit up.

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Captain, they are progressing but it is too early to give a completion time. I am monitoring. “

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Pope entered the Apollo and saw Aely on the bed trying to move. She moved faster and rushed over. Hey, you okay? @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas(edited)
Scipio, Hephastus, repair time estimated at 2 hours 29 minutes. @@ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron @Broadsword-Eagle @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Thanks Hephaestus, that’s fast moving. Good to work with the professionals. “ Broadsword replied.
“Captain, two and a half hours to completion time. I will start preparing the ship for departure. “
“Would you like to continue on to the asteroid field?”

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/31/2018
finished speaking with Jackson and sent him on his way. He made his way back to his seat at the weapons console. He checked his dummy rounds and live rounds before looking up. “Ammo looks good Sir. If we’re headed into the asteroid field, we will be able to engage those floating hunks of rock.”

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“My favourite pastime!” Broadsword joked.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron07/31/2018
nodded and grinned at Broadsword “Great way to relax and unwind. I heard it’s better than yoga!”

Broadsword-Eagle07/31/2018
“Anything is better than yoga.”
*Broadsword was smiling broadly, it was always good when levity was the banter on the bridge.”

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
Aelyrya reached up and used Gala’s shoulder as leverage to prop herself upright. “Well, I’m starting to think something’s up.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Gala smiled Just a little.

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“Well, every time I get my arse on a ship without you, I end up unconscious or blasted out into space,” Aelyrya scowled. “I’m beginning to think you get jealous when I go off playing with other officers and sabotage things so you can roll in and save me!”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Pope laughed Well Vixen, I do enjoy spending time with you. And actually I was here the whole time, just in an eclipse testing the Scipio and Tar

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“I mean, really Gala, you’re hot and all, but, all this shadowing me around… Zok’ll purge my computer banks!”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
I wasn’t shadowing you, Aely. You are a big girl, you can take care of yourself

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
Aelyrya raised an eyebrow “Stop spoiling my fun, I just nearly got spaced!”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Nearly, then crushed by a super gas giant
Speaking of which, everything ok?
The crew managed to slap a force field over the hole before your compartment completely depressurized
However, I sincerely hope you explain to the contractor that shoddy welds that almost get the SecTreas killed aren’t the most effective method of repeat business

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“Pfft…” Aelyrya shifted slightly. “You can guarantee I will be going Grade A Bitch on that contractor when I get my hands on him…”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Good, exactly what I wanted to hear
So, you have a free ride on a spiffy new apollo if you wish, or you can stay here and explain why taking a ship into a gas giant may not be the smartest plan
Your call
I am letting the Scipio continue this run. Repairs are underway, along with some support ugrades

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
She grumbled slightly and rolled her eyes, something about “mother-feckin’ Gas Giant….” “I’ll stay aboard. Someone’s gotta be around to test this bloody paint.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Very well. I would prefer you did it from inside the people tank, however.

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“I’ll try not to go outside without an EVA suit next time.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Sounds like a Plan. I am heading to the Phalanx if you want some decent chow. I need a drink, and they have fantastic milkshakes. I am going to be observing from a Hammerhead for the rest of this cruise.

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“Milkshake sounds like an amazing idea,” Aelyrya jumped off the bed and stumbled a little, steadying herself on a nearby trolley. “Whoops!…. Maybe a whiskey in it….”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
Lets take this. An eclipse is not a two seater.

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“What, the trolley? Do you know how to fly a trolley?” One of her knees buckled slightly and Aelyrya’s face turned grim. “Can you give me a moment to compose myself? I think I might need something to settle my spinning head…”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
pope walked a little forward and got the atrention of a medic. The Secretary would like some attention, please.
an attendant came back, eye flashlight reqdy to see if Aely’s eyes were dilated…and stopped dead in his tracks when confronted with the solid red…
Ummm, ma’am…what seems to be the issue…ma’am

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“Balance issues, probably inner ear and sinus related. Did anyone check for burst eardrums or other outward signs of the bends or anything?”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
*the tech looked througg her electronic chart. Yes maam. Your ears are fine, and your blood is showing normal levels of nitrogen
I thought I heard you say you remember being tossed about. There is a decent chance you have a concussion

Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas07/31/2018
“Eugh, that all? I figured I at least deserved something interesting….” Aelyrya stood up straight and motioned to the medic. “I’m discharging myself so… anything you can give me to stop me falling about like Uncle Jimmy at Hogmanay?”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO07/31/2018
the flummoxed medic passes over some motion sickness pills

August 1, 2018
ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
While Aely was getting patched up, Pope went to the cockpit and gave offers for the apollo to transfer to the Phalanx. She forwarded computer commands to her eclipse to do the same. Without much fanfare, both ships detached and transferred to the Hammerhead

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
Tristan had not said a word during the commotion, he had monitored the power to shields, doing the best the Scipio could give him. He made notes that the shield power transfer had been slow and not 100% efficient.(edited)
After making notes and plans with the chief engineer of the Crucible, he went to the Captain’s quarters to see the damage for himself. He took hi res mG photos of the structure located at the hull breech. He changed the music in his head many times and cranked it to max volume. He stood staring at the breech for a long time. He finally took out his flask, poured enough near the breech that he energy shield zapped a few times. He held up the flask, hesitated, then took a swig. He stepped closer to the breech and put his hands on the hull.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
the metal felt rippled like a potato chip
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
With his eyes closed, he slid his hand across the surface, obviously deep in thought.
He grabbed a chair in the compartment and put it in the middle of the breech, stood on it and felt the inner hull, methodically, slowly.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
everywhere he touched had some metallic distortion. Sometimes the waves were rolling, other times the frequency was short in interval(edited)
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
In the middle of doing this he changed the music.

“FUCK”
“FUCKING Cheap motherfucking contractors.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
(Hopefully that isn’t directed at me, Tristan. )

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
(NOPE)
Tristan stepped down off the chair and pulled out his hand torch. He knew it would take a while, but he proceeded to cut a piece of the inner hull from the structure. It surprised him it took a 1/10 of the time it should have. He let the piece fall to the floor to cool. “Mother fucking assholes.” He stared at the outer hull and wondered. He hit replay on his mG and set up a verbal timer. He reached into his back jumpsuit pocket and pull out a pair of gloves, putting on the right one. He fired up the torch, moved as close to the inner hull as he could holding it in his left hand. In a move that even astonished him, he hit the outer hull with the torch where a piece extended into space, he thrust his gloved hand through the shield and grabbed the edge of it.
“NOW”
He shouted at his mG to start the timer as he concentrated on cutting the outer hull loose.
He was so pissed the time passed like an acid dream….. all … in .. slow… motion…

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
the warped metal separated quickly under the onslaught of the torch

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
He pulled the section through the shield and dropped it on the deck, the music had changed, he stared out through the shield to the blackness, when finally his mG alarm went off.
All he could do was take a deep breath and exhale.
He tapped his mG for diff music.. He gathered up the pieces he had cut, slipped them in his bag. He pulled out his flask again, poured some on the deck. “Not your fault girl. Not at all.” He took a swig and left the breech.
As soon as he left the Captain’s quarters he tapped on his mG and asked. “Ensign Jackson’s location”
Tristan walked into the mess and headed to the coffee urns…

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
He noticed a few sailors grouped together and one young ensign sitting by himself.. He poured a cup of coffee and acknowledged a couple of young sailors.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
ensign Jackson is currently in his quarters

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
He held his cup to the Ensigns in the room “Well done lads and lassies”
He left the mess and walked directly to Jackson’s quarters. Standing in front of the door, he reached down and pulled his boot knife. With the hilt he knocked on the door.
The music in his head was the ancient tunes of a group called the Grateful Dead…. it calmed him…. a bit.
When the Ensign opened the door, he was in the stupid position of right in front of it…. Tristan put his left hand into his chest and raised the knife to his throat…..shoving hard until he had him against the back wall.
“IF YOU EVER FUCKING LUNGE, MAKE A FUCKING FIST, LOOK AT ONE IN A BAD FUCKING WAY AT A SUPERIOR OFFICERI WILL FUCKING KILL YOU. GOT IT ENSIGN?”(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
the startled ensign actually pissed his pants
Whha?

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
Tristan turned and left.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
shaking, the ensign shut the door, turned and vomited in a trashcan. He had already been considering tendering his resignation. First a crazy Captain, then an insane Admiral, now this?! He should have listened to his mom and opened a Big Benny’s

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
Tristan went back to engineering where he put the cut pieces into a simple scanner. He then sent to his quarters, pulled a bottle of Terran whiskey out of his locker, sat, took a long drink. Staring into space, he stood, stripped off his jumpsuit, grabbed and put on his black utility kilt with the punk chains he liked so much. He clipped on his side arm and his belt knife. He took four more bottles of whiskey from his locker and walked to the mess.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
When he arrived at the mess he placed a bottle on each of the 4 tables, then grabbed a glass from the stack, sat, poured himself a half a glass and sipped it.
He opened his mG, tapped out a couple of personals, then to @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO and @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio “We need to talk.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
Pope received the mG. Tristan, I am no longer aboard the Scipio. Is this a face to face meeting or can a vid call suffice?
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
mG msg to @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO secure msg can suffice… scans on hull fragments show sub standard materials… FYI for your eyes only.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
mG msg to Tristan. Very well. Please coordinate with the Hephaestus to determine the level of compromise and develop new operating curves. I’ll get things rolling on my end. Also, pleas send me your raw data. Pope out

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/01/2018
Tristan left the mess to return to engineering. He pulled the hull fragments from the scanners, downloaded the data from each to his mG. He put the fragments into the laser cutter and programmed it to slice each into 3 parts.(edited)
He took the 6 segments and put them in 3 different lock boxes. He opened his mG and set the codes for Adm Pope and Commander Tar. He then sent the coded scanning data to Admiral Pope’s personal mG. @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword sat back in the pilots chair his feet up on the console, all the prep work was done he was just waiting for the repairs to complete.(edited)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
The Hephastus quickly patched the hole in the hull, replaced the finiky connector and installed support braces along the keel and ribs to compensate for the defective metal. Computer analysis showed that the Scipio’s hull was only 66% as strong and ductile as it should have been for this period of its service life. A message was sent to the Captain, bridge crew and Engineer that included the new operating envelopes. Arms folding back into place, the Cruicible completed the assigned work and started towards the jump point back to Stanton, one Hamerhead in tow acting as escort.

Scipio, Athena. You are cleared to continue Restricted flight ops. @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword snapped out of his Reverie and acknowledged the Admirals communique.
He started to read through the restrictions as they appertained to manoeuvring and hull strength.
He found a few issues that really surprised him, the alloys used in the ship construction looked well below standard, how the hell has that happened?
He opened a comm to the Chief Engineer.
“ @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} Are you reading this stuff… sounds like Lorell is being ripped off by the Crusader ship yards. ‘Tween you and me.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex stepped onto the bridge after a few hours rest
Gentlemen… I’ve received Tristan and the Admirals messages. I’d like to address those things, but first please open a channel to the Lorell Emergency Response Fleet before they leave. And please broadcast throughout the ship.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Captain Sir, welcome back. Hope you got some shut eye.”
“I am sorry that my calculations on the hull strength were out, but looks like we are vindicated.”
“I will leave that stuff to @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} in future!”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
It was not your fault in any way, Broadsword. Alex opened the channel and broadcasted throughout the ship

Chirps on an incoming message repeat on bridges throughout the system

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
This is Commander Tar, broadcasting this message to the Lorell Emergency Fleet as well as my own ship.
First things first. I am not saying this to make a grand apology that will inspire forgiveness or something of that sort. I am also not going to make any of you fine men and women feel sorry for me. That would be selfish and dishonorable of me. I am here because I simply want to apologize for my decisions, for bringing you out here, and for putting the people aboard my ship at risk. I would like to say that I have learned and grown from this experience, and that it will affect my future decisions and choices. To my crew @Broadsword-Eagle @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron To the crews of the Response Fleet, to the Admiral @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO And our dear Secretary @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas especially… I say to you now that I am sorry
And that here I am… ready to try again.
Tar out.
he clicked the channel and broadcast closed

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Captain sir, for my part no need for apology.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
I appreciate that Broadsword.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“I have prepped for going to the Asteroid field, is that still your plan?”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Aye. That is still the plan. Let’s get this show back on the road.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
nodded in agreement with Broadsword before snapping off a quick salute. He turned back to his weapons console wordlessly, as he prepped for some asteroid practice.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Ready to jump? @Broadsword-Eagle

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Spooling up now Sir.”
Broadsword watched the scan ahead of him, in case there was a hidden Admiral waiting ahead!
“Spool complete ready to jump.” He said.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018

You know the drill. Hit it.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword activated the Jump key and the whine of the Quantum drive started around them the blue glow began and the ship slid ahead into the flux with a quiet pop.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alright everyone, once we get to the asteroid field, we gotta be extra careful. Don’t want to scratch the paint on this thing more than I already have. Broadsword, you’re going to have to be nimble. @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron You fire only at the targets I give you, unless I say the words “fire at will” in which you will have to judge what to fire at for yourself. There will be lots of asteroids coming towards us. Plenty to break up
Transferring power to maneuvering thrusters and weapons now

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
“Aye Commander, trigger discipline is the watchword for the day.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Agreed, Ensign

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Aye Sir.”

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
Began checking the responsiveness of his port and starboard turrets. Moving the gimbals from left to right. “Weapons ready for some space rock pulverizing”

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Nimble as a ballerina on opening night.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
We’ll see about that Tar laughed

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
As they came out of Quantum, Broadsword took hold of the controls waiting for the spool down. As it finished he eased the jolt so that she barely moved from the course and slowly eased back on the throttle to bring her around into the field of small asteroids.
“We have arrived at @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron target ground.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Almost immediately, an asteroid whisked toward them Ensign, 320 degrees, port bow.
Fire.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword held her steady.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018

(For reference)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Scanning ahead for the next target, confident in the Ensigns abilities.(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
nodded, serious and focused. He tilted his targeting stick to the appropriate target vector before calling out. “Acknowledged, Commander. Laying hate.” He pulled the trigger firing, in three short bursts until the asteroid was destroyed.(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Broadsword, roll 20 degrees starboard side

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Rolling.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
But you already knew that Tar winked
Jozai, 290 degrees, fire

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
Nodded and began firing.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword eased out of the roll holding steady again.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Let’s see how you like this. Marking target on your radar. Alex tapped the target dead ahead, and it showed up on the Ensigns Radar

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword checked the scan and saw that the weapon arcs were open, he held her steady for the Ensign.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Hold course, Broadsword. Only pitch if I tell you

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Aye sir.”
“Steady as she goes.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
As Tar waited seconds for the ensign to respond, it seems he had thrown him off a bit.
Pitch to avoid

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Avoiding.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
(I’ll wait a few for Jozai to come back)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword pushed the stick forward aware that things were close he eased the throttle and strafed to clear the asteroid.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
((Sorry, am talking to a friend, and I tabbed out of my discord.)) quickly acknowledged the marked target and tracked the asteroid with his respective turrets, but he remained silent as he waited for a engage order.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Fire.
even though the asteroid was behind them, Alex was confident that Jozai could hit it with the rear turret(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword checked the weapon arcs and kept the pitch steady to keep them clear.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Commander Tar stood up and waited for the 2 members of the bridge crew to follow(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
scanned the area for a moment, before powering down the weapons console, and standing to follow the commander.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex started walking down the hallways, leading the two men down all the way to the engineering deck. He spotted Tristan @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} and called him over
There’s an issue going on, gentlemen. I will say again, what I did at the gas giant was stupid. It still put the ship at risk… but that said
The hull and ship systems should NOT have failed as quickly as they did
And as our talented engineer has pointed out… there are further flaws with this ship.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Sir. “

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Does anyone here have any idea why this may have happened?
Was a production issue?
A failure in fitting the ship?
Was it an oversight, an accident?
Or was this a purposeful action

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
shook his head, quite unsure. “Well Sir, it might have been any of those, but I’d loathe to speculate without any evidence.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
I agree completely, Spaldur. But we know that SOMETHING went wrong. In my head, here are the 3 most likely scenarios
1: This was an accident, and there just was multiple failures in the production of the Scipio.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Well @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} revealed sub standard materials. That smacks of profiteering. “

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
2: Because of Crusaders lack of income due to no tourism because of criminal activity, as well as only having a few ships on the market, they cut the quality of the production. Yes, Broadsword, exactly
But we have a good relationship with Crusader Industries. We’ve worked closely with their security forces and have used their shipyards for a long time
Lorell, in fact, is a very good source of business for them
Which leads us to the 3rd possibility.
We must at least consider the idea that this could have been sabotage, as unlikely as it seems
But we need more evidence to consider acting on that.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
((Dang this is getting good, I hate to do this but I need to run a quick errand. Maybe 10-15 mins. Sorry!!)) nodded silently, still unwilling to make a decision based on conjecture alone.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
(No problem, just let us know when you’re back)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“What kind of evidence?” Broadsword asked conscious that the sub standard materials would have some form of trace.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Well, we’d need to know what the sub standard materials are made up of, and where they came from

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Thank you sir.”
“Good shooting @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron.”
“Most of my equipment seems up to standard sir,” Broadsword explained. “I can run some more diagnostics.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
I’ll let @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} do that. In the mean time, let’s try this photoreceptive paint

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Err yes sir.” Broadsword said.

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
((Back)). “Thank you Sir.” nodded his thanks to Broadsword “Thanks for getting me in position.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“My job.” Broadsword acknowledged.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Broadsword, you comfortable getting some footage in a terrapin?

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Of course sir.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Get to the hangar bay and fire it up. Line yourself up to the starboard side and watch the magic happen.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Sir. On my way.”
Broadsword not for the first time wished he had learned more about the Polaris before taking this job. He followed the signage and after a couple of dead ends found the hangar.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
The Terrapin was not a stranger to him he opened her up and climbed into the scanning room he smiled.
He climbed into the pilot seat and started the power up sequence.
“Terrapin to Scipio. I am ready for take off. Am I cleared?

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Terrapin, Scipio. You’re clear. Go ahead

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword watched the doors opening above him and as they completed. Eased up on the strafe thrusters.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alright Terrapin, go ahead and get in position. This should be fun

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
As he cleared the Scipio he registered the size and pulled the ship ahead and slightly to port to get a good 3/4 profile shot.(edited)
“In Position Sir.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex nodded and pulled up a panel on his chair

The ship was already a pretty one…
Alright, counting down
5
4
3
2
1
Alex pressed the button
The ship shimmered, and little hexagons of color bloomed, until the ship was splashed with red and gold

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Pretty.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Isn’t she? Alex replied
But more importantly, I’m assuming it worked
Which means this photoreceptive paint can have very large uses.

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“That it did.” Broadsword smiled. “Sending the phots now.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex received and flipped through them, pleased with the outcome. He wondered if the Admiral was still watching… @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO
Come on in, Terrapin. Thanks for that

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
“Aye Sir.”
Broadsword quickly and efficiently brought the Terrapin back into the Polaris dock, and shut down the systems.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex also reached behind his chair and pulled something out
He chucked the small package at @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron
Almost forgot Tar chuckled There’s your noodles(edited)

ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron08/01/2018
caught the package deftly, and cradled it like a baby. “Always a pleasure Commander.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
Broadsword walked back onto the bridge to see @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron cradling a carton of Big Benny’s
“Terrapin all secured sir.” He told the Captain flipping him a quick salute.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
Alex saluted back
(Give me a few guys)
(Broadsword, how late is it for you)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
(Another half hour then I’m off to bed.)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/01/2018
(Cool, we’ll pause here for today)
(Thanks everyone. I may be a little late tomorrow, but I’ll do my best to be on as much as possible)

Broadsword-Eagle08/01/2018
(Thanks again good fun)

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/01/2018
Pope had seen the Polaris switch from matte gray to red and gold and back like a chameleon. Actually, no. This was faster, like someone tossing a switch. She was impressed. At least the damn yard had gotten something right, besides the weapons on this bird. She had already forwarded a scrubbed version of Tristan’s report to Aely. Considering how tenacious the SecTreas could be, she was a much more dangerous foe than the Inspector General would be. Pope couldn’t imagine that the near catastrophe was sabotage, but what Tar said was correct, it could be. Her gut told her that it was someone in the supply chain making a fast buck by providing crap steel. She tapped her nails on the desk. One way or another, she would find out(edited)

August 4, 2018

Broadsword-Eagle08/14/2018
Broadsword could see that @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} was deep in thought, tapping the VR keyboard on his Mobigas like he was on a mission. He walked out of the mess room coffee in hand and made his way back to the bridge.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/14/2018
Tristan looked up from his mG to see that the pilot, @Broadsword-Eagle, had left the mess. “Damn” He said, Tristan had wanted to talk to the obviously talented pilot more. He also wanted to show him the data on the metal scans. He knew how personal pilots took it when something went wrong with their ship. He chuckled. He thought: Others may be on a ship, but it belonged to the pilot.

August 22, 2018
Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/22/2018
Tristan popped open hi mG and sent a private msg to @Broadsword-Eagle “Hop on down to mess when ya get a chance, got some data about your ship you should see.”
As he sat there, Tristan missed the decor of The Fractured Core and of course, its beautiful owner. He drifted for a sec, then looked around the mess, wondering if @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio would allow some improvements.

Broadsword-Eagle08/22/2018
sitting on the bridge awaiting the return of his Captain @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio Broadsword got a message on his Mobiglas from @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} He smiled, things were running smoothly, no new orders and the lousy coffee had run cold. He saluted @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron
“Going back to the mess to refill my coffee.” He said. “Call me when the Captain comes back.” He thought about what he had just said… this wasn’t his ship, he was only the pilot… “Please.”

August 25, 2018
Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/25/2018
Tristan had returned to Engineering, gathered up the physical samples of Scipio’s hull, a mG projection screen, 2 interactive mag screens and two bottles of whiskey. When he returned to the mess he set the items on a table. He took one of the mag screens and walked to the wall opposite the table, unrolled the screen, and put it on the wall. The screen instantly started playing and displaying an ancient music band, “The Grateful Dead.”(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/25/2018
He put the other on the wall behind the table he was going to sit at. He went and retrieved two whiskey glasses, opened the projection screen, popped the cork on one bottle and poured two healthy drinks and waited for @Broadsword-Eagle

Broadsword-Eagle08/25/2018
Broadsword entered the Mess hall, and was immediately hit by the harsh tones of music he had not heard before.
He struggled to catch the lyrics as he moved across to Tristran, the whiskey looked inviting, he flipped the Chief Engineer a salute and took the seat opposite him.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/25/2018
Out of the ordinary, Tristan stood, snapped a perfect military salute in return to @Broadsword-Eagle. He slid the projection screen so it was perpendicular to them both, slid a whiskey glass across the table, then slid four of the evidence bags with the shards to the Pilot. He tapped his mG to kill the music in his head, tapped it again to display the metallurgical scans on the projection screen. He took his glass, held it up to Broadsword, took a long, long swig and leaned back in his chair. “There ya go mate, had nothing to do with your piloting.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/25/2018
Broadsword smiled, an emotion he was becoming accustomed to since meeting up with Lorell.
He looked at the whiskey glass and almost lovingly picked it up warming the amber fluid in his palm. He lifted the glass gently to his lips and took a sip. He raised the glass in salute to @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}.
“Cheers Chief,” He said quietly savouring the hot liquid on his tongue. “Thanks, I needed this. Both your support and your whiskey. “
“Which, if I may hazard a guess is Sol Earth Irish of origin.” He took another sip. “Damn fine.”

August 27, 2018
Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/27/2018
“Thank you.” Tristan held the glass up and looked at the light through golden liquid . “Actually half correct. My father and brother make this. They’re both engineers at Origin, but have been making whiskey my whole life.” He took another sip and chuckled. “Ya see, I’m a oooooops baby, dad blames the whiskey.” He finished his glass and laughed loudly. He reached for the bottle and poured more for @Broadsword-Eagle and himself. “The grain is grown off world, but fermented and distilled right in New Austin on Terra. Dad goes there everyday after work.”
Tristan sipped the whiskey “Just wanted to make sure you knew the hull blow out wasn’t any fault of yours, but shitty construction. Someone made some creds using crap metal.”(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle08/27/2018
Broadsword sipped a little more, this is moreish he thought. Better stop on this one!
“I was surprised how far out those calculations for survival were.” He said. “The Captain’s plan should have worked if it hadn’t been for this.”
He waved at the mG data. “Someone needs to pay for this.”
“Can you track the source of the defective material?”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/27/2018
“You’re damn right, Mate. Someone needs to pay. Damn lucky noone was killed, like all of us.” He leaned in closer. “Passed the info on construction to @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO ” He laughed “Wouldn’t want her wrath on my doorstep.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/27/2018
Broadsword smiled wryly “Yes she sure toasted our arses and we are on the same side!”
“When @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO has finished messing with the Captain @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio, you and me need to go somewhere and give this whiskey the respect it deserves!”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/27/2018
Tristan laughed a hearty laugh. “I know what ya mean about the Admiral. I swear that the Lorellians are really all the Irish that left Earth and forgot.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/27/2018
“If there were any records of them left we could have fun proving that!”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/27/2018
“I’ve talked to dad and Liam lots about Origin making a damn ship that had a proper study, with fireplace and wingback chairs, a place to properly drink whiskey.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/27/2018
“You sir, are speaking my language.”
“I haven’t had time in the fleet yet, but I understand that there is some kind bar there, the transport pilot was talking about it when we were waiting for @Dr Aelyrya Payne, SecTreas to deal with the jettisoned cargo issue.” Broadsword said smiling about his introduction to Lorell. (See An Eagle has Landed)(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/27/2018
(I have stayed up with that from the beginning.)
“Oh yes there is a bar aboard ship. Owned and operated by one of the most beautiful women you will ever meet. Her husband was Lorell military.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/27/2018
“In that case, I look forward to sharing an evening or two with you there. Once, of course, we have completed this shake down cruise, which appears to have turned into a full blown work out.” Broadsword raised his glass again in salute. “Here is to Lorell, may it grow strong and stay hidden until the lost are found and the new home is discovered.”

August 28, 2018
Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/28/2018
Tristan raised his glass. “Amen, feels good to be a part of something good again.” He slid the 4 evidence bags to Broadsword “Those are your souvenirs of the” He coughed “shake down cruise. I’m gonna continue running diagnostics until @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio finishes.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/28/2018
Broadsword finished his drink. Ne nodded at @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} and picked up the evidence bags.
“Thanks Tristran,” He said. “Lets get this cruise finished in style. I am going back to the bridge reckon the Captain @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio should be finished his cogitating soon!”

August 29, 2018
CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
@Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} @Broadsword-Eagle @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron All hands, this is your captain speaking. Prep for departure. We will be underway in half an hour.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
“Captain – Engineering Aye Sir” obviously it couldn’t be seen, but Tristan gave @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio his best civvie salute.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword walked onto the bridge, seeing the Captain sitting in his chair studying his Mobiglas, he suddenly felt guilty for his absence.
“Broadsword-Eagle reporting sir,” He snapped a salute, “All systems are ready for your orders on the bridge.” he paused. “I just went below for coffee.” he added.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Your absence is excused, Boadsword. Mine however, is not. Initiate undocking procedure.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword made his way quickly to the Pilots seat, he flicked open the Flight controls and sent a quick message to the repair ship. “Scipio ready for undocking.” The reply came quickly, “About time Scipio. you are clear to manoeuvre docking clamps released.”
“We are released sir,” He told the Captain, “all systems are green we are ready for your orders.”(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Tristan, fire those puppies up. I want engines full throttle
Well, not full throttle

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
“Bridge – Engineering Aye Sir power at 100% Gonna drop into jefferys #2 and check some circuits. Don’t trust anything this people did here.” Tristan tapped his mG and the music in his head blared. https://youtu.be/rMbATaj7Il8

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Alex chuckled don’t wanna fry the docking bay. Looks like you got it

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
“Where are we headed Sir?” Broadsword asked as he monitored the Engine start up and prepared to move away from the Crucible.(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Broadsword, go ahead and set course just away from the Crucible for now

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
“Aye sir.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
I need to ask if we have any outstanding orders before we go joyriding again

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword straffed the Polaris to Starboard clearing the arms of the repair ship and preparing an ahead scan to prepare for the next order.(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
“Captain – Tristan It’s a friggin’ rat’s nest down here. Non essential circuits though. Gonna do some rewiring. If your comms start playing Barry Manilow, let me know.”

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword chuckled wondering what Barry Manilow was.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Aye Tristan, do your thing. But I want every wire and switch back to standard Naval configuration when we get back.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
Tristan laughed Aye sir, but if ya hear me cursing(edited)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Alex smirked let me know if you need anything
Broadsword, open a comm message to the Admirals

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword, leaned over to the Communications console and flicked a switch.
“Captain of the RLS Scipio requesting Comms with Admiral Pope.”
@ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
@Admiralty This is the RLS Scipio. We have undocked and are awaiting any orders you have for us

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
(Oops wrong channel)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
(No problem )

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/29/2018
Scipio, Athena, you are cleared for restricted flight ops Destination is CO’s discretion up to 50,000 ly @here

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Acknowledged, Athena. Scipio out.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Broadsword scanned the Star Map, checking jump sizes.
“Options are Ellis, Terra or back to Stanton, if you want another jump Sir.”
“I would think you wouldn’t fancy UEE dodging in Terra though!” He added wryly.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
I’d prefer not, Broadsword. Set course for Ellis.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
“Ellis it is. Aye sir.”
Broadsword moved the Curser on the Star Map to the Magnus Ellis jump point and spooled up the Quantum Drive.

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Maybe we can catch a race down there Alex winked

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
Tangled in a mess of horrible wiring, Tristan was rockin’ out then decided to have some fun. He tapped his mG, accessed the coms and:

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
“Ready to jump Sir, It will be about 2 hours in Quantum.”

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
Understood. Hit it.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
(That’s an extrapolated guess)

CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio08/29/2018
You going okay down there Tristan?

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
“Jumping.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
Sir, yes sir okay trying to untangle a kindergarten’s work

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
The Ship shuddered and the blue fizz of the Quantum drive surrounded her as the vision distorted and she moved rapidly ahead.
“What is that Noise?”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
Tristan stopped for a second as he felt the QD spooling, he loved that feeling, specially when in a jeffreys tube.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
Whilst in Quantum, Broadsword did some quick reading up on the Ellis system, he had been there before, but always on duty and had not had a chance of availing himself of the Tourist opportunities. Not that that was likely to happen this time either. He figured this Admiral Pope was keeping a keen eye on them. Restricted Flight Ops, hmmm he hoped the Captain knew what was meant by that rather ambiguous term.

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
He checked over the systems, noting that most elements of the engines were in tune and the ship was responding well.

RADM Dev Garason, CAG08/29/2018
((Good to see this is still going, Im a bit behind on what you guys have done ))

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/29/2018
During the quiet hum of QD Tristan was rerouting the poor wiring he had found in jefferys #2. He reconnected FO Connector #A54621 and had just popped the cork on his favorite ale when all hell broke loose.(edited)
Emergency lighting came on, ship wide comms blared: FIRE ALERT, FIRE ALERT SECTION 5, LOWER DECK, FIRE ALERT.
“Well shit” the cork was already off, so Tristan took 4 or 5 gulps of the ale and with his free hand yanked FO Connector #A54621 loose. The alarms continued for a couple of seconds, then died.
“Ah Bridge – Tristan disregard alarm” he finished the ale and laughed.
((Thanks @RADM Dev Garason, CAG ))

Broadsword-Eagle08/29/2018
On the Bridge, the fire alarm registered a fire in the lower deck, Broadsword brought up a schematic on the Captain’s overhead screen just as the message from Tristran broke over the comms and the alarm stopped. Tristran’s laughter could be heard before the comm cut out.
“Crazy chief,” Broadsword muttered under his breath. “You are damn crazy.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO08/29/2018
After reviewing the astrogation logs from the Scipio, Pope ordered the Captain of Hammerhead to plot a jump to the Ellis system. Her Eclipse followed along on auto pilot like a faithfully stealthed puppy. It was always handy to have an ace or two…

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}08/30/2018
Tired of being cramped in the jefferys tube, Tristan decided to go to engineering and get a cold one. After grabbing one out of his locker, he headed to the mess. Old Earth Sammy Hagar was blasting his head. On the way, he popped the cork on the bottle, took 3 good gulps, and stood in front of an access panel and wondered. Pulling out his multitool he undid the spring screws and pulled the panel loose. He stopped dead in his tracks at what he saw and let out a curse that probably could be heard through the whole ship. “WHAT THE FUCK YOU’VE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME.”
He resisted the urge to throw the bottle, the panel and kick the ship.
“Holy crap.”
He put the panel against the bulkhead, gulped the rest of the ale, opened his mG, cranked the music to max and took pics of the mess.
He took note of the panel number, tapped the mG and searched for the components and circuits that traveled through this junction. He took a deep breath seeing that nothing like life support was here.
Replacing the panel, he went back the his locker, got 2 bottles of ale and one of whiskey. In the mess, he gulped from one and sipped from another. He sent the following mG msg: @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio Captain, it is my opinion that the Scipio was once a UEE ship that was in the process of being scrapped when it was purchased by a dealer and sold to the ROL. You have the metalurgical data and now I have found this:”

“Preliminary diagnostics indicate non essential power/data transmitted here. What we have is a ship patched together well enough to be sold and fly. We can work within the current specs however. Tristan out.”(edited)

Broadsword-Eagle08/30/2018
Broadsword checked the timer on the QT Drive, it was down to the final count. He tuned his throttle and stick in preparation for the slow down, flipped his all stations comms switch and announced.
“Leaving Quantum.”
The Drive spooled down the blue fizz slowly desolving as the ship slowed down to normal SCM. Broadsword pulled back the throttle and eased up on the stick as he lined up with the swirling mass that was the Jump hole ahead of him. He switched scanners to full ahead and sent a ping out to check the area was clear.
“Out of Quantum Sir,” he said to the Captain. “5 klicks from the Jump hole, area looks clear. Ready for your order to proceed to Ellis.”(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 5:59 PM
Tristan had checked the Rat’s Nest of wiring and made sure it was actually functioning correctly. He closed up the panel, patted his pockets and went to the bridge.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 6:05 PM
He walked straight to @Broadsword-Eagle, nodding to the bridge crew that were surprised to see him there. He unsnapped his right lower pocket and pulled out a full bottle of Terran Daughrity Whiskey, took a snort and handed it to @Broadsword-Eagle(edited)

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 6:06 PM
Broadsword looked up at the Chief Engineer and smiled
“Thanks, Tristran, but i think I better have all my wits about me for this jump.”
He turned around to look at the Captain, @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio
“Besides, not sure the Captain would approve.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 6:13 PM
Tristan leaned in closer to The Pilot “Dude… I think the Cap has checked out mentally, let’s head back to the Fleet, get this thing in dry dock.”(edited)
He looked around at the bridge crew touching his side arm just in case any of them thought that might be munity talk.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 6:37 PM
Broadsword looked over to the Captain’s chair, @CDR Alex Tar, CO, Scipio did look as if he was in another world.
“I’ll get the Communications Officer @ENS Jozai Spaldur, 1st Squadron to patch a personal message to @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO this sort of thing needs to be handled delicately.” He said quietly as he leaned into the Chief Engineer. “This is my first tour of duty within Lorell, don’t want to end someone’s career and end up in the Brig!”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 7:04 PM
Athena here, go ahead
@Broadsword-Eagle, @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 7:10 PM
“Admiral, my sincere apologies for this call, but the Chief Engineer and myself are concerned that the events of the initial trail of the Scipio has affected the Command. I would like your advice on how best to proceed.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 7:53 PM
Tristan took another swig and out of habit offered the bottle to The Pilot. He tapped into the feed to Admiral Pope. “Well Admiral Friend, @Broadsword-Eagle is right to contact ya. I know there’s a party going on in The Core and” he chuckled “I know Candy’s missin’ me.”(edited)

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:04 PM
Broadsword looked up at the Chief Engineer.
“Candy?”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 8:09 PM
Tristan leaned against the pilot’s console “Ya, Candy” he got a bit of a far away look in his eyes “she owns the ‘Fractured Core’ a bar/casino in the fleet.”
“hang on” he tapped his mG a couple of times then projected an image in front of @Broadsword-Eagle

“This my new found friend is Candy Rogers. Her husband was ROL military, killed in some confrontation.”

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:11 PM
Broadsword rocked back in the Pilot chair.
“Wow,” He exclaimed. “I am in love…”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 8:13 PM
Tristan laughed a loud hearty laugh. “Oh ya. you and rest of the fleet, men AND women.”
He got a look of ‘Oh ya’ on his face, reached into his lower left pant pocket and pulled out a bottle of terran ale, pulled out his boot knife, scored the seal and popped the cork. He leaned back on the console and took 4 nice, long drinks from the bottle. “Oh, she’s a looker alright. Smart and tough too.” he nodded his head in an obvious sign of admiration.
put away the boot knife, tossed the cork in the air a couple of times, then threw it across the bridge and hit the Scanning Station Ensign in the back of the head with it.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:34 PM
“Well if the Admiralty gets back to us before the rest of the crew realise what is going on, we’ll maybe get back there.”
He laughed, he seemed to be doing that a lot lately around this guy.
“You can introduce me.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 8:41 PM
To my knowledge, there aren’t any line officers left aboard the Scipio. Please heave to and prepare for my arrival. We are going to finish this goddamned space trial if I have to get out and fucking push(edited)

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:43 PM
“Broadsword aye, awaiting your arrival Sir.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 8:44 PM
The hammerhead smoothly pulled up to the Port airlock and extended her docking collar
pressure seal indicators blinked green on both sides of the airlock

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:44 PM
Broadsword swiftly punched the control for piping the Admiral aboard
“CNO Admiral Pope Boarding.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 8:50 PM
Pope walked swiftly to the Bridge. Commander Tar was being strapped onto a gurney and prepared for transport to sick bay(edited)
Gentlemen. Please report.
What’s the status of the Scipio?

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 8:53 PM
“Sir, Broadsword-Eagle, Coopted pilot for this mission. Ship is on the edge of the jump hole awaiting orders from Command.”
“Ship is compromised by sub-standard materials although we have green lights on the systems presently.”
“Chief Engineer is happy at last report but requested a return to Dry Dock when possible.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:03 PM
Pretty much puts paid to that account. Do you two feel you can get her back safely, or do I need to take command?

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:04 PM
Tristan snapped to attention when the Admiral appeared. He set down his ale and snapped his best military salute. “Ma’am”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:05 PM
returns salute

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:05 PM
Broadsword stands up from his seat snaps to attention and salutes.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:06 PM
At ease you two

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:06 PM
“Admiral, this guy is the best damn pilot I’ve seen in along fucking time.” pats Broadsword on the shoulder “Scipio will hang in there if ya want us to continue the shakedown.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:06 PM
This isn’t a military parade

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:06 PM
“Sir, I am happy to take her back if you would like.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:07 PM
I would like to continue the cruise if we can, but not at the risk of losing the ship or the crew
And Broadsword, you can call me Gala.
Tristan, the flask, please. She holds out her hand

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:09 PM
“no flask today Gala, just the bottle” He pulls a 3/4 full bottle out of his pocket and hands it to her.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:09 PM
she looks at the label, uncorks the bottle and takes a healthy pull.
Been that kind of day.
she passes it back

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:10 PM
“No fucking shit.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:10 PM
Thanks. That’s good stuff
Alright, I am temporarily changing the designation of the Scipio to RLNS. Both of you have your Merchant Captain’s license, so either of you can command.
Consider yourself on my payroll

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:12 PM
“Admiral, er I mean Gala, I am happy too continue if you wish to take command.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:13 PM
You can submit the bill when you return to Port

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:13 PM
“Now that’s the best news I have heard all day.”
Broadsword looked at Tristran with a grin.(edited)

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:14 PM
“Tag, you’re it @Broadsword-Eagle” smacking him on the back “proud to serve for ya Captain.”

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:14 PM
“Happy to help, Tristran, Gala.”
“Tristran, save that bottle, when we get back I’ll give you a hand with it…”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:16 PM
laughs “Engines need some to get them going. I’m heading to engineering if’n ya need anything you two.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:16 PM
Gentlemen, you know how to use the Scipio’s computer network. I would like a report on what is left to test, your plan to test it, and a flight plan

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:16 PM
“Admiral Gala Sir, I have the ship.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:17 PM
Tristan made his way down to the engineering compartment, playfully kicked a couple of ensigns in the butt “Stations ladies and gentlemen.”
he ran diagnostics on computer systems, all lights green

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:18 PM
“Tristran, when you get to engineering, file a list of what you would like to run some tests on, we may as well give the dry dock a steer on the repairs needed.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:19 PM
“Yes Sir, I’ve damn near filled my mG with part numbers.”
“Nothing major Sir, just small items that were stripped out by salvagers before the sale.”
“Diagnostics on power grid green Sir”
“Restarting engines.”
Tristan had his ensigns snapping to, stationed at their consoles, he walked into the engine room.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:22 PM
“Ok, Chief.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 9:22 PM
Gentlemen, she seems to be in good hands. I will see myself out.
with that, she pivoted on her heel and headed back to her ship

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:23 PM
“CNO Admiral departing” The pipe rang out throughout the ship.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:24 PM
Engineering – Admiral Pope Great to see ya again, let Candy know I’ll be back soon.
Tristan hated to just use a touch screen to start a ship’s engines. He had the habit of going to manual control, to set the inflow rate, ignition timing to get the best from the engines.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:27 PM
“Do you hear there,” Broadsword spoke into the whole ship pipe, “This is Broadsword-Eagle, by Command of Admiral Pope, I have taken command of the re-designated RNLS Scipio. Our mission as an Auxiliary is to return the ship to dry dock and on voyage we will carry out tests on the remaining systems.”

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:28 PM
Engineering – Bridge Aye Sir, standing by

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:29 PM
“Thanks Chief.”
Broadsword retook his pilot seat, and at the console reconfigured the Command approval and Veto controls to his seat.
He flipped up the Star Map and started to formulate his flight plan.
Broadsword filed a flight plan through Lorell Admiralty, taking the RLNS Scipio back to Stanton and the Fleets latest location.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:48 PM
Tristan saw the comm and the flight plan come across his console, he tapped the engine console, using the command for manual control.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:49 PM
“Do you hear there,” He spoke into the whole ship broadcast. “This is the Captain speaking, my intention is to take the ship back to the fleet for assessment and further research and repairs. Our trip should be straight forward and I realise we are a skeleton crew. Please all manned stations take the time to assess any issues you may find en route, we are bug searching here team, help out the engineers. Captain out.”
Broadsword leant back into his chair and taking the Joystick and Throttle, eased the ship back from the brink of the jump to Ellis.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:51 PM
Tristan pulled the bottle out again, pulled the cork, poured a bit on the deck of Scipio, then took a swig. “All right baby, here we go.”

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:52 PM
He did have a clear run to the Stanton Jump point but just to further aid the research and Navigation bug search he routed via Borea. Spooling up the drive.*

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 9:53 PM
He started the ignition, feathered the fuel supply, dialed down the core until the engines read 96% efficency.
Engineering – Bridge She’s all yours

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 9:53 PM
“Prepare for Quantum jump…. jumping”
The Blue Fizz of the Quantum effect surrounded the ship and she distorted and warped towards the first stop.
As the ship moved through Quantum Broadsword mused that it was amusing that they were closest to what may be the best place to get the ship looked at. Borea was the home to Drake ship building yard, but he was Lorell now, and what was once really open to him was now shrouded in doubt and suspicion. I have lessons to learn from this deployment he thought.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 10:08 PM
Whilst the ship was in hands of the Quantum system he took the opportunity to leave the controls and walk around the bridge checking the stations as he did, He had never shipped out on a Polaris before, and although this ship was barely manned and headed for home, she was now his Command and he needed to be familiar with her set up. Fully manned it would be a force to reckon with, he felt deeply sorry for Commander Tarr and his abrupt departure.
He returned to his seat after the familiarisation round and was surprised to see that Borea was coming up on the scan. He prepared for the departure from Quantum and settled himself into the seat.
“Leaving Quantum.” He reported to the rest of the ship. “Chief, @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA} I am going to take her down into atmosphere for a spin just to check her thrusters and planes before we continue. May as well get a feel for how she handles in all conditions.”
Broadsword set the IFF to interrogative merchantman, to offset any issues he may have with local flight control, and keeping clear of the standard flight lanes of the planet he eased her down through the atmospheric boundary.
The buffeting of the entry was as expected, he felt good response from the control surfaces and the thrusters, she cruised well and he felt confident that whatever shirking on materials did not effect her flight abilities.
He played around a little, aware of what he was doing feeling the G’s and enjoying the power of the engines and smooth aerodynamics. After a while he realised that he was just indulging himself and slowly eased up the nose and headed back to orbit.
“Atmo flight test complete. Please record any issues you may have had, I’ll check the reports when we get back to the fleet.” He spoke to the crew. “Spooling up for the Stanton jump hole.”
“Jumping.”
Broadsword brought the Scipio to the Stanton Jump hole and then through it back to the Stanton system. Once there he brought up the coded beacon Nav system to set the current location for the Fleet. They were still sheltered in the Aaron Halo in the rear quadrant of Crusader. He jumped first to Arcorp and then Hurston, after a small jump clear of Hurston he silenced the IFF, ordered restricted RF radiation and jumped to the Fleet location.
“All hands, this is the Captain, we are home.” He spoke over the Broadcast system. All stations prepare your reports on tests and trials I will have them in my office after we dock.”
Broadsword opened a private channel on his Mobiglas to @Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 10:28 PM
Tristan had shut down all UEE transponder systems prior to the jump to the Stanton system. He checked all the engineering readouts, and typed codes for a compliation of data for Broadsword, the Admiral, and ship repair.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 10:30 PM
“Chief I am bringing her into dock on the Store tug ships. I’ll get things together and the reports for the Admiral. I will see you you in the Core when we are all done.”
He leaned over his console and typed a brief message to the Admiralty.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 10:33 PM
Tristan thanked the engineering ensigns, gave them both a bottle of Terran ale, packed up his kit. He looked around engineering, popped the cork on the whiskey, poured a small amount on the deck then took a long pull. “Ya did well love, maybe we can do this again Scipio.”
He stepped to the consoles and shut down all but basic power systems.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 10:36 PM
Captain Broadsword-Eagle of the RLNS Scipio sends. @ADM Galadriel Pope, CNO Sir, Thank you for the opportunity to Command this fine ship, her problems not withstanding I am sure that she will serve your fleet well in the future. I am preparing detailed reports on our findings for the whole voyage and will present them at your convenience. I have docked her at the Fleets Dock Tugs and hereby relinquish Command to the Docking engineers. It has been a pleasure.

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 10:39 PM
Gala read the report, glad that her crew and ship were home, but saddened that Tar seemed to be having serious issues. Just another day in the Republic Navy.

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 10:40 PM
Bridge – Engineering Permission to disembark.

Broadsword-EagleYesterday at 10:41 PM
“Chief, approved. I will join you as soon as I can.”

ADM Galadriel Pope, CNOYesterday at 10:41 PM
Scipio-Fleet approach, Fleet Actual. Welcome home and job well done. Please forward your reports to me, engineering and SecTreas. I am sure she will have a few words to say to the shipwrights. Drinks are on me in the Core. Athena out. @here

Tristan Daughrity {ECHA}Yesterday at 10:45 PM
Tristan was always a little sad each time he left a ship, especially if he knew he may not be boarding again. He hoisted up his kit, looked around engineering, kissed his hand and touched the bulkhead on his way out. He wondered how many times had he disembarked a ship…..

September 15, 2018
Broadsword-EagleToday at 10:37 AM
Broadsword had finished reading, editing and collating the various reports from around the ship. People had done good, there was solid evidence here for the CNO’s pursuance of the poor materials and workmanship. There was also a good platform for the engineers to start putting the defects right. He put the finishing touches to the Command covering document, and as requested forwarded it to the CNO, the Engineers and the Secretary of the Treasury.
He left the Captain’s Office/ Cabin, a place he had spent almost no time in and yet it felt like a home he was leaving reluctantly. He walked through the ship to the airlock, where he knew an Argo awaited him.
“Don’t be nostalgic, you idiot.” He told himself. “You’ve had your time, taken the stress and the knocks. It’s time for a new chapter.”
As he left the Airlock he brought himself to full attention and gave a crisp salute, then boarded the Argo.
